“ I engaged Racquel Kerr to consult on the development of the City of Greater Bendigo’s second Reconciliation Plan 2021-2025, Barpangu. As local government, we have obligations under the Traditional Owner Settlement Act to engage and partner with the Traditional Owners in addition to the very active and diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and organisations.
Throughout the entire process, Racquel proposed and led this very extensive community engagement process, and ensuring the entire community was properly engaged, listened to and actively participated in the RAP process. And given the very diverse Aboriginal community here in Bendigo, Racquel consistently worked to ensure each event was culturally safe for all involved.
The success of Racquel’s approach and facilitation skills was evident by the level of community participation in the event and also positive response to our new RAP. Over 200 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members helped developed the Plan; the highest participation rate for the City’s RAP.  I highly recommend Racquel Kerr as a consultant to lead any RAP, engagement or facilitation work.

Fiona Machin, Inclusive Communities Officer (Reconciliation), City of Greater Bendigo
